# Quick Build Guide

## Build the Installer

```bash
# One command to build everything
make package
```

This creates `dist/Knoe Installer.app` - a self-contained macOS application.

## Usage

**GUI Mode (double-click):**
- Open `dist/Knoe Installer.app` in Finder

**Command-line:**
```bash
# Auto-detect display (GUI or ncurses)
./dist/Knoe\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/knoe-installer

# Force ncurses mode
./dist/Knoe\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/knoe-installer --no-gui
```

## Install to /Applications

```bash
cp -r "dist/Knoe Installer.app" /Applications/
```

## Makefile Targets

- `make help` - Show available targets
- `make install` - Install build dependencies
- `make build` - Build the binary
- `make package` - Create .app bundle
- `make clean` - Remove build artifacts
- `make test` - Test the built binary

## First-time Setup

```bash
make install  # Install PyInstaller and dependencies
make package  # Build everything
```
